Global Game Jam 2024!

This was my 3rd year attending the Global Game Jam. This year instead of working with implementation tools like Wwise. I focused on creating SFX and Music for games. As with previous years, I focused on one teams game in particular but helped out where ever possible with others. I also challenged myself to only use personally recorded sounds that I could create during the jam. The main focus of my efforts this year was the game The Last Laugh by team Funny Fighting. This was a 2D smash-like game.  https://cyps.itch.io/the-last-laugh For this I produced all audio assets for UI, Character Foley/ONOs, Combat and Music. The initial idea was to have two characters to battle however only one was implemented by the end of the jam and unfortunately this meant a lot of the audio assets were also unimplemented.  The Clown character was distinguishable via its squeaky feet and high pitched exertions. The Jester character was distinguishable by its bells on its shoes and lower pitched exertions. T

2023 Summer Sound Design Showreel

This project was created in reaper and includes linear designs. This features gameplay/cutscenes from The medium (2021) , Ghostwise: Tokyo (2022), Returnal (2021), A Plague Tale: requiem (2022) & Final Fantasy XVI (2023). Sounds were sourced from: Freesound (CC0) Https://www.zapsplat.com (Standard License) Krotos Free Audio packs My own recordings and synthesis.  Dialogue was provided by: Lucas Crabb Lucy Middleton Oran Talbot The Project video was created entirely from my own gameplay/cutscene recordings from PC (Games from Xbox Game Pass) and PS5. These were then edited together in Final Cut Pro.  This video was then exported for edit against in DAW Reaper. Once designs were complete these were exported back for a final video reedit within Final Cut Pro. This was then uploaded to YouTube as a host site.

Navigational Weather System

This project is my honours project, the culmination of my honours project literature research and time at Edinburgh Napier. Project Description: This project aims to alleviate the growing trend of over reliance on UI as the method for conveying information in games.  Inspirited greatly by the implementation of navigation in Ghost of Tsushima by Sucker Punch Production, 2020. Ghost of Tsushima game uses sound and animation in order to guide users to locations within the world. This is what I wish to build upon but remove the reliance on UI to guide the player. As while Ghost of Tsushima is not overly cluttered the majority of new open world game releases wish to convey so much information to the player the screen becomes cluttered.  Technical Description: The project is a Unity asset store project that has been integrated with Wwise. The weather system was created and then sound designed using the Wwise Soundseed air, woosh and grain plugins. This project allowed  me to learn new skills
