This was a personal project to re-shell a GameBoy Pocket console.
I decided to undertake this project due to my personal love for the GameBoy systems. I purchased a console and replacement case on eBay, the only tools required were tri-wing and philips screwdrivers both of which I owned from previous projects (namely when I reshelled a GameBoy Color). It is a simple disassembly and reassembly as no soldering or glue is required (adhesive tape is provided with the case).
For this I chose an all black case and added a mock famitsu model screen lens for contrast. I feel it turned out very well and looks quite striking compared to the original shell.
This is a very simple project to complete and I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to repair their old console or get into retro gaming.
The case and lens came from ZedLabz via eBay if you wish to create your own.
